Dialectical Behavior Therapy at Project Transition
At Project Transition, our mission is to enable each individual Member to graduate from our mental health treatment program and live a meaningful life in the community on the terms that he or she defines. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an Evidence-Based Practice that is used to treat individuals who struggle with multi-diagnostic issues that can interfere with their pursuit of their ‘life-worth-living.’
DBT treatment is a comprehensive evidence-based mental treatment. DBT treatment principles target individual improvement in:
Trauma symptoms like flashbacks and urges to self-harm
Ability to regulate emotions, control aggressive behavior, and live independently in the community
Who benefits from Dialectical Behavior Therapy?
Members with Multidiagnostic Mental Illness who suffer from the devastation of emotional and behavioral dysregulation resulting in debilitating symptoms, as well as suicidal and para-suicidal symptoms
Friends and Family Members benefit from improved relationships with their loved ones who learn interpersonal skills to manage symptoms and regulate behavior
The Project Transition Clinical Team uses evidence-based interventions and clinical tools, backed by extensive research, to treat individuals who have struggled with difficult to treat mental illness.
